The candidate must convey a high level of energy, an eye for content creation, and non-conformist determination to resist old ways. You can be an innovative collaborator at The New American Agency™ as we lead in identifying breakthrough media opportunities for our clients.


  • Negotiate, build and implement spot television and radio buys for 20+ local markets simultaneously against the Urban 12-17 segment
  • Communicate with media representatives on behalf of our agency clients to negotiate the best placement, highest value-add, and optimal use of budgeted funds
  • Represent clients and agency to the media in a respectful and professional manner
  • Build and maintain positive relations with media representatives
  • Identify best innovative sponsorship and integration ideas during ALL negotiation processes
  • Regularly solicit and evaluate value-added opportunities for clients
  • Work with Media software programs such as Strata/SBMS as well as Microsoft Suite (ie.,Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Keep abreast about the industry, Nielsen ratings, Urban & African American Market, and specifically the 12-17 Youth Segment marketplace conditions, price fluctuations and changes in viewing patterns
  • Steward media campaigns regularly, manage makegoods, and ensure timely delivery of post analysis
  • Assist supervisor with maintaining budget control throughout campaigns
  • Reconcile discrepancies with schedules during invoicing process


  • Excellent media buying negotiations skills specifically in broadcast buying local TV and Radio
  • Bachelor Degree is required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation, analysis, and charting
  • Minimum 2 years as a Media Buyer with experience in local TV and Radio buying; familiarity in the Urban Market (ie., African American market) is an A+
  • Have a sense of urgency to obtain results and meet deadlines
  • Set priorities and manage time well
  • Be highly organized and effectively manage the details associated with campaigns
  • Adapt to changes in workload and working conditions without loss of productivity
